Ricochets

theres fog on the windowpane
and the shapes outside still seem so clear
because ive seen them a thousand times
and this is no exception
more and more they tell the tale
of the old man and the sea
if that were true we'd be no where
the story is counterproductive
counterproductive x4
outside you hear the ricochets of everyonve involved
but can i find you in some place quiet
and i know you cant hear a thing i say
so ill stay here and ill wait here
as far as the cast concern
you need some kind of heat
cause the theatre feels a bit too chilly
Thanks, Management
and Several Miles from the dead chess club
Lays the king of spades
he says to find his box spoons and check
they're all accounted for
accounted for x4
chorus x2
so give me a few minutes
with hopes ill find you here
cause i fear ill never find you if i leave here tonight
cause my colony of ants is even getting nervous cause
these periodic eartquakes are just to much to
chorus

Flannel Shirts
03:42
|
|

in a little bit of time
the rain will fall
and take off the color
that you worked so hard to put there
but you did it just for fun
so what?
its not your descision its just that
he wore the coolest flannel shirts
but youre calling all the shots cause youre beautiful
and he offered you the moon and you turned it down
just like that one time when
and you got sick of his pre-paid calling cards
cause theres nothing spontaneous about them
and im not saying youre wrong but your sense of entitlement
is slowly killing him
he always goes outside to figure things out by himself
when you start looking to him he turns around and stops his thought
but well make it just in time
for everything to calm down
and the storm will end
and leave with all the wreckage
prestine as it was in life
but your stories have changed
are you going to tell the others?
itll be a catalyst
cause you know that everything we do is in eachothers best interest
and the stories that we tell ourselves
will only be forgotten
but you hang on for dear life
as they fade into the background

Doomsday
03:34
|
|
||
scene starts in a oddly set dinner party
sun blaring through our uncovered paradox
you wait for someone to say something
the room's silent atop your disinterest
we'll spend the day blowing up televisions and crystal radios
and we'll keep it to ourselves.
and when the sun sets well crash our cars. its a perfect plan
for a perfect set of fools
i remember that day
rays crashing
interfere with the dead-set plan of the earth
i havent lived that day
but it seems i should have
colours vibrant; i swear it was autumn
the planets looked so close
and satellites surround
the concrete walls that held no metaphor
and when the caravan's driving away
the clouds clear and the planets erupt
i told you that they wont be coming back for us
but i cant wait for doomsday
you're laughing maniacally
im staring pathetically
at the contrast between earth and body
were enjoying the levity
i swear that effectively
we're both just waiting to die here
and ill continue this time
because i slept all night
and theres nothing to stop me but syntax
so if the planets collide
that i guess i did fine
because i'm dying to wake up

When You Were Cold
03:04
|

stop, you're surrounded
it's fact if i depart we'll be set at a greater distance
from the core of the planet and the light from the stars
it feels i'm wasting a thousand years
but you chime in and the sounds are ancient
signals sent to my brain from yours
and can you be so certain that you'll get what you want
or are you taking your chances, and is that why your right
and i'm wrong
cause we've gone nowhere and seen nothing,
but the clock stops ticking when you finish the jigsaw
we always knew we were so far
away from eachother but
would you follow me
would you follow me
would you follow me
would you follow me
would you follow me
would you follow me
would you follow me through all of this
as our stars pass through
cause its not the same
no its not the same
no you're not the same as when you were cold and i was smart
but that's not the core of the problem
cause ya, you're not the core of the earth
and that's not anything we've ever even spoke about
can you remind me of what it was like back when
every fact ignored
every fact ignored
every fact ignored except the ones that

Fiction (with TFX)
02:30
|
|

im etching fiction to my desk and nothing seems to happen
with all these deep engravings, nothing still set to stone
a permanence i see fit, yet lacking that conviction
give me five minutes, everything will change
give me ten minutes, nothing will be the same
we rely on everything we do
wait for the day we can sit in silence
youre still beside your best bet
patiently tapping your phone
ignoring all intention
outside your own mind wanders
ive wrote it down and planned it all out
taken time to take it all in
if i am right, then first things first
but execution fails here firsthand
but youre still beside your best bet
patiently tapping your phone
ignoring all intensive thought
while you sit in silence

Only Here For Now
03:49
|
|
||
these groves of mine in caves and stars that light them
you'll never witness this story unfold
your heart, hes close, but two can not share
a mind on this earth, you're only here for now
now we wait
absorb the sky
and pass the day
absorb the night
i fear we differ
it doesn't matter
were here alive
for life itself
so enjoy the ride
cause you're terrified
but everything must end so take it
i cant help what i do
cause everything i say
sounds like you

Keep Contact
02:57
|
|
||
youre skin and bones
not flesh and blood
no common word except that of association
like chamomile
and iphones
every thought of you feels like im failing
and in lue of words
a common image
improvisations are like a tribute to
another artist
a painted plane
and everything ends up being a basis
you are just a basis
if i run i know you wont find me,
and if i hide, i know you wont care
and i get so scared of that
cause i run i know you wont find me,
and if i hide, i know you wont care
i know you wont care one bit
if i run - well i wont run
and if i hide - youll see me soon
youre my favourite
excuse for sleep
its like im falling apart, ignoring fibrilation
and all your words
spoken in halftone
but every visual thought kept in a lossless format
and i have your things
with all your scribbles
and they remind me of things like your terrible handwriting
and holy shit
its been forever
i dont wear glasses but fear i may have lost a contact
